Sara Palin continues to command a loyal following among American voters even after losing out in the 2008 Presidential election campaign as John McCain’s running mate and more recently resigning as the Governor of her beloved Alaska. Sara’s book “Going Rouge” jumped to the number one spot on Amazon weeks before it was even released. There were advance orders for over 1,500,000 million copies which is an amazing number in an otherwise depressed book market. Book sellers should love Ms. Palin by now.
In the book Sara Palin reveals her side of the many stories that evolved out of her rise to fame during her campaign for Vice President of the United States. While some view her comments as pure fiction (how about it, Senator John McCain?) others are fascinated to hear Ms. Palin’s account of her $150,000 shopping experience and her interviews with Katie Couric and others.
Love Sara or hate her there is no doubt that the Going Rouge Sara Palin is a force to be dealt with in American politics. The five to seven million dollars she has reportedly received as a advance for her book and the $100,000 speaking fees have only added to her raw power.
Clearly Sara Palin has hit a responsive note among a large block of voters. It will be interesting to see how that works out as we approach the 2012 Presidential election.

The US Department of Defense (DoD) is the federal department in charge of coordinating and supervising all agencies directly involved with national security and military matters. The DoD is one of the largest tenants at The Pentagon and consists of three chief sub-departments, the Department of the Army, the Department of the Navy and the Department of the Air Force.
Other DOD groups include the the Missile Defense Agency, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the famed National Security Agency (NSA).
In terms of the department’s history, it was set up based on some specific plans drawn up by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and 19 December 1945, President Harry S. Truman proposed the creation of a unified Department of National Defense. The plan was argued over and was not made law until 1947.
On July 26, 1947, Truman passed the National Security Act of 1947 which founded the National Military Establishment which began active operations in September, 1947. The Establishment had the ill-fated abbreviation NME which resembles ‘enemy’ and it was, in 1949, baptized the DoD.
Before the creation of the DoD, US armed forces were divided into different departments which lacked any real central authority. The USMC stayed a separate service under the control of Naval Department while the Coast Guard remained under the control of the Treasury Department.
The Department of Defense’s budget was around 7 billion in 2007 though this figure does not include tens of billions more in supplementary spending on things like nuclear weapons tests.
During time of war, the DoD has authority over the Coast Guard. According to the US Code, the Coast Guard is considered one of the five branches of the US armed services. During times of official war the Coast Guard operates as a branch of the Navy even though the Coast Guard has not been under the full control of Navy since World War 2.
The official command structure of the Department is defined by the Goldwater-Nichols Act of 1986, passed into law by President Ronald Reagan in October, 1986. The Act changed the command of the US military and it introduced the most distinctive changes to the Department since it was established.
Under the terms of the Act, the command structure passes from the US President, through the Secretary of Defense, to the commanders of all military forces (COCOM). The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is chiefly responsible for readiness of the US military and acts as the President’s military adviser while remaining outside of the chain of command.

The Labour Party is in a shambles and are lacking a real leader. Some how Gordon Brown has stayed on as the party leader. Mr Brown has stated that he will learn from his mistakes and that he will start to listen to the people but many believe that he lacks true leadership qualities and the communication skills to turn it around. I doubt whether the British public would forgive him for his errors. So what can be done? How could Labour turn things around to ensure that they at least have a fighting chance of being re-elected?
I am not an MP. I am just an average man from the UK who enjoys politics. I am a web promotion specialist based in the heart of England who promotes websites to do with stuttering, business cost cutting and an article submission service.
I do however believe that I have the answers to the above questions and the solution to the current Labour woes! Who is the one person, perhaps the only MP who has spoken any real sense in the last eighteen months? For me there is only one answer to this question - Vince Cable. Vince is currently the MP for Twickenham and is a Lib Dem party member.
So here is my idea and by the way I am by no way saying that it would be easy to carry off. I would offer the leadership of the Labour party to Vince Cable as a way of convincing him to switch parties. He may be required to enter a leadership election however I am sure he would end up victorious if this was the case. I would also let him take full control of the party therefore if he feels that Gordon Brown has to go then so be it.
With Mr Cable as the leader I am convinced that Labour would win the next election and that he would be able to successfully steer the country out of the current financial mire that it is in. At the end of the day it all depends on how much Vince Cable wants to become the Prime Minister as it will never happen with the Lib Dems and whether he would be prepared to switch parties. I for one would love to see him switch and as our new leader.

He’s measuring the curtains, he’s planning the colour scheme and wondering whether or not to go minimalist.Barring a miracle, like alien invasion, the revelation that Gordon is indeed the reincarnation of John Maynard Keynes himself, or the Sun scoop of Nick Griffin being the love child of Ken Clarke and a heroin addled jazz singer, most pundits believe that Dave will soon be in number 10 leading a Tory government.
So this Christmas will be cause for some quietly confident celebration in certain political households and necking down the bitter booze of commiseration and certain defeat in others. What sort of Bullingdon Club boys toys would be appropriate for the soon to be crowned ones? The port will be flowing and the cheeses stinking late into the night as the cuts are planned and the privatisations discussed. But before slapping his thigh and shouting “to London Puss”, Dave should beware of getting into the pantomime spirit too much, lest he receive Christmas gifts from nasty Baron Tebbit of Chingford.
In true panto villain tradition, such an offering could only serve to remind him of the hubris that precedes a fall under, evoking the ghosts of Christmas past. The gift we speak of is, of course, the Thatcher nut cracker. She was the iron lady with balls of steel, which is no mean feat for a woman, but very useful when you want to break some heads (or unions for that matter) and put the cabinet’s nuts in a vice.
As a stocking filler, the Maggie Thatcher nutcracker probably ranks alongside the Black Spot in terms of popularity.Who would have thought that the lady who insisted she wasn’t for turning would turn out to be a right cracker (granted the left-leaning might say just downright crackers). The great thing about this marvellous incarnation is that it doesn’t really matter if you loved or loathed her. She’s still absolutely brilliant, and after all, there’s many a Conservative, beginning with Alan Clark, who dreamt of having his nuts crushed between the thighs of a powerful woman?

Is it really possible to access public records and just how easy is it? This piece of writing provides a detailed portrait on how you can browse through public records.
Thanks to the freedom of information act it is now possible to find out information about people by searching public records. By following the correct procedures you can freely view most of the records filed in government departments and agencies. These records include immigration, driving, civil and adaptation records and a whole lot of other records as well.
I will speedily brush through the most frequently used ways and the process involved in each step. Firstly you could look through the federal records and local government agencies. You could browse through the public archives, courts, schools and any other local institutions that you can acquire info from. This could prove to be very time consuming if you have many institutions that you need to go through.
You could possibly hire a third person or agency to help with the search by dividing the search areas or to do the whole search for you. There is one big setback for using a third party for for searching public records. These people usually have an hourly rate that they charge and it can turn out to be quite a costly exercise for you.
Alternative number three would be to search public records online. If you want to view public records, this way is the most affordable and fastest compared to all the other techniques. Some sites will provide you with incomplete and unarranged info at no cost at all. By using fee basesd sites you could get up to date, accurate, comprehensive and detailed info.
Don’t worry they wont charge you an arm and a leg for searching public records. Their fees are very low and for the service and convenience that you get it’s worth the money. Come to think of it you don’t even have to get up from your chair in order for you to access these records.
